I’ve been redeemed

So many of us have been redeemed from the works of the devil, but how many others know about where Jesus has brought you from? Growing up in a Christian home I heard stories about deliverances from smoking, drugs, alcoholism, and so much more, but as time goes by it has seemed like we as Christians get used to seeing lives changed when someone comes down to the alter and gives his or her life to Christ. What then? What happens after that moment when your life is turned around for the very first time and you finally see that light of day you have been looking for?

Well, here’s what the Bible has to say about it. “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy” (Psalm 107:2) Let me break it down a little bit. This scripture is saying that if you have been redeemed or set free out of bondage in any way then you should say something about it! Tell others where Jesus has brought you from. It may be that you have been struggling in a certain area of your life and Jesus gave you the victory, or it may be family struggles. No matter what you’re going through Jesus is there to save you. Not only do I believe this scripture is speaking of telling others where you came from, but telling the devil that “I’m free!”. Proclaim your victory and walk in freedom. Psalm 107:2 is a powerful scripture and should be in every Christians arsenal to battle the enemy!

“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the enemy”

Here’s a prayer that you can pray if you like.

Thank you Jesus for shedding your blood, and I declare that by your blood that I have been set free out of the hand of the enemy. Through your blood I am redeemed from the works of the devil and I am FREE! Amen.
